What’s Different About Leadership in 2011?

Katie Sweetman has a short but insightful post at the Fast Company Expert Blog entitled, “What’s Different About Leadership in 2011?” Within the post she highlights some of the unchanging principals around leadership and the changing dynamics of today’s business world. Specifically, within today’s environment, excellent leadership:

  1.  has the ability to balance both results and people – neglecting either can be detrimental to an organization.
  2. is able to orchestrate rather than direct – getting the right people in the right places and challenge them to excel
